I'm currently a science education PhD student at the University of Michigan. Research is clear, community-engaged project-based learning is one of the most effective educational frameworks for helping young people develop the skills they need to address the biggest challenges facing our society. However, many obstacles still remain, keeping community-engaged project based learning out of most classrooms in America, and so I'm committed to supporting teams of people working to take on those challenges and building paths toward ever more impactful learning environments.
I grew up in rural South Dakota and followed in the footsteps of my father and grandmother into the teaching profession. I created this website with the hopes of connecting with others who are passionate about understanding what the next generation of community-engaged project-based learning can look like, and then doing what we can to make that dream a reality.
